Wyle Information Systems establishes and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable engineering approaches and best practices to develop economical, reliable, and functional software—having produced hundreds of applications using highly adaptive and flexible processes, such as Rapid Application Development (RAD) and object-oriented design/development, ISO 9001:2000 and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) standards. Experience in multiple languages and development tools, allows the development of custom solutions for a wide variety of clients. Web-based development initiatives incorporate leading-edge tools, and supports and enhances legacy systems developed in COBOL, FORTRAN, and PL/1.

At the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Glenn Research Center (GRC), Wyle Information Systems was on the development team that created the Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) software. Developed using ISO 9001:2000 and SEI CMM Level 3-compliant methods, NPSS won NASA’s 2001 Software of the Year award. At the Office of Naval Research (ONR), 40 software engineers provide enterprise applications support, Web page design and implementation, and systems integration in an SEI CMM Level 2-assessed operational environment. In the last 5 years at ONR, a Wyle team developed more than 7,300 components for 143 releases of 12 software systems.
