Meet Wyle Employees

After working in neuroscience for six years, I moved to Wyle’s Space Medicine group in 1997 and have been there ever since. Wyle has supported me as I have grown in my career as well as allowing me time for my family. I have had the opportunity and the training to increase my skills and have moved from entry level engineer, to project lead, to engineering lead for our group.

Shannon Melton, Advanced Projects Engineering Lead, Space Medicine, Houston, Texas
During the span of 12 years with Wyle, I have been to Space Shuttle launch and landings in Florida and California as part of the Bio-medical Operations Team, worked on Shuttle-Mir Program, Circadian Rhythm Studies, the Lunar-Mars Life Support Test Project and studied chromosomal damage in astronauts during long duration space flights. I am also involved in ground based studies on human chromosomes. It has been, and is, an exceptional experience that very few people can even dream of.

Dipta Bandyopadhyay, Scientist, Radiation Biophysics Laboratory, Houston, Texas

Employment with Wyle has allowed me to attain and apply a wide range of knowledge in various technical areas. I feel fortunate to work in an environment that exposes me to training in a variety of fields, from ordnance testing to computer programming. With the experience I’m gaining and the freedom to share ideas I feel I’m contributing to the “state of the art” for the next generation.

Michael Layman, Test Technician, El Segundo, Calif. Test Operations

The four years that I have spent at Wyle have been instrumental in both my professional and personal growth. From working on Space Shuttle components, to standing toe-to-toe with a multi-million dollar rocket, to helping lead a campaign with the March of Dimes, the knowledge and experience I have gained far exceeds any expectations I had.

David Kyle, Technician, Kennedy Space Center

Intern, helpdesk analyst, network administrator, and web developer are all positions I have held in a progressive career path at Wyle where I am now the manager of the Information Technology Solutions program. In my 10 years with the company, I have pursued training and educational opportunities while exploring a variety of IT jobs. This has allowed me to make contributions along the way and gain experience that has become vital in my current role.

Rusty Cooper, Manager, IT Solutions Program, Lexington Park, Md.

I was hired as an engineering college intern almost ten years ago. Since then I have had the opportunity to grow into a highly functional program manager working in reliability centered maintenance. I chose my career path and received outstanding project management training along the way. My work setting is exciting and I actually look forward to coming to work every day.

Melissa Packwood, Program Manager, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Jacksonville, Fl.

During my career at Wyle, I’ve grown from staff member to project manager to program manager and now to subcontracts manager. I’ve been with Wyle for 22 years and each year has been a learning experience for me – I have great supportive co-workers and have taken advantage of many interesting opportunities. The longer I’m here the better it gets.

I’m a logistics analyst working with the F/A-18 Program at the Naval Aviation Depot, North Island, California. After 9/11, I was mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Wyle was extremely supportive of my commitment to the Navy Reserve, maintaining employment for me even after 20 months of active duty, and has continued to provide assistance and benefits during annual training along with flexible working hours as necessary.
