After working in neuroscience for six years, I moved to Wyle’s Space Medicine group in 1997 and have been there ever since. Wyle has supported me as I have grown in my career as well as allowing me time for my family. I have had the opportunity and the training to increase my skills and have moved from entry level engineer, to project lead, to engineering lead for our group. During the span of 12 years with Wyle, I have been to Space Shuttle launch and landings in Florida and California as part of the Bio-medical Operations Team, worked on Shuttle-Mir Program, Circadian Rhythm Studies, the Lunar-Mars Life Support Test Project and studied chromosomal damage in astronauts during long duration space flights. I am also involved in ground based studies on human chromosomes. It has been, and is, an exceptional experience that very few people can even dream of. I’m a logistics analyst working with the F/A-18 Program at the Naval Aviation Depot, North Island, California. After 9/11, I was mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Wyle was extremely supportive of my commitment to the Navy Reserve, maintaining employment for me even after 20 months of active duty, and has continued to provide assistance and benefits during annual training along with flexible working hours as necessary.
